The Socratic Method To Great Living (5 Simple Steps) | Zen Habits

How many people in your life do you know that wish for love, happiness, and success? I think this is a ‘no-duh’ commonality between the vast majority of the global population. I think all three of these three things are great, and I’d like for everyone who wants them to achieve them. The only problem is… people should not only be careful of what they wish for, but know what they’re wishing for. This means to whip out a dictionary and a piece of paper and thoroughly define what each of these words means for you. If you have a misrepresentation of these words in your mind, you’re going to make some huge regrettable mistakes in life.

1. Love. A quick search pulls up “a deep feeling of sexual desire and attraction.” Imagine a person that goes through life by internalizing this as their definition of love. They could easily end up in an abusive relationship with a person they are infatuated with, and stay with them even though they are miserable, because they want love.Even though it’s an unhealthy relationship, it fits into their definition of love, so they remain confused, and attached, because this is what feels right for them.

2. Happiness. Some people might consider happiness as having some laughs, others might consider it as achieving some goals, while others settle for the definition of ‘nothing went wrong today.’The way I define happiness is “being the creator of your experience, choosing to take pleasure in what you have, right now, regardless of the circumstances, while being the best you that you can be.” As it turns out, my definition is centered around the journey, not around the accomplishment, so I can take pleasure in waking up and existing each day, instead of being miserable because I don’t have a ferrari yet.

3. Success. A quick search shows success to mean “a state of prosperity or fame.” I can see why a lot of people would be depressed if they wanted to be successful and this was their idea of success. Perhaps it is possible for everyone in the world to be rich and famous, but in reality that isn’t the way our world is currently structured.Perhaps it would be ‘wiser’ to define success as something else. Something that doesn’t come for nothing, but is accessible to everyone regardless of any circumstances. I would define success as “constant and never ending improvement”. If you set goals for yourself, and you take time each day, to work towards your goals, then you are successful in my book.At the end of the day, the questions we ask of ourselves determine the type of people that we will become…

The Crash Course Ready to learn everything you need to know about the economy in the shortest amount of time?

Distribute Crash Course DVDsOur number one passion at ChrisMartenson.com is spreading the messages of the Crash Course to as many human beings as we possibly can. We sincerely believe that the best thing we can do for our country and the world is to escalate public awareness of these issues so that they become a subject of public discussion and debate. The Crash Course was first published exclusively online at ChrisMartenson.com, and the growth in site traffic has been nothing short of explosive. We're now seeing more than 10,000 site visitors daily, and suddenly ChrisMartenson.com is one of the busiest finance-related web sites on the Internet. That growth has all occurred as a result of word-of-mouth advertising.

We want to encourage that trend to continue to grow into a massive, viral grassroots movement that puts the messages of the Crash Course at the top of the public discussion agenda. There are several ways you can help us put the word out. If you're so inclined, you can even make money for your efforts. This page describes the details of our viral distribution plan for the Crash Course DVD. Let's first review the success factors that got us to the point we are now, and then consider some new options we're making available: * Word of mouth.

One of the best things you can do to help our cause is just to tell everyone you know about the crash course. e-mail them a link to www.ChrisMartenson.com/crashcourse, or tell them face to face. This is the primary way the word has been passed around to date, and we owe the success of the site to those of you who have helped spread the word

* Public mention. A whole lot of readers have been posting links to ChrisMartenson.com on finance and political web sites, e-mailing TV news shows, and generally speaking up wherever they can. This has been so fantastically successful that we've organized a volunteer group called the Martenson Brigade for people who want to help in this way and have fun collaborating with others while doing so.

* Give the Crash Course DVD to your friends. As this page will describe, we've made it incredibly easy to either buy or make your own Crash Course DVDs. It's a simple law of human nature that if you give a person a DVD, they are much more likely to actually watch it than if you just mention the existence of a web site to them in passing. We're passionate about getting this message out to as many people as we possibly can, so we've made it really easy for you with the DVD version of the Crash Course.

* Sell Crash Course DVDs for a profit. We recognize that to expect people to spend time and money buying or making their own DVDs only to give them away for free is asking a lot, and we want to inspire a lot of people to really put the message out in a big way. So we've designed a new program where you can sell crash course DVDs and even make some money for your effort! The full details are on this page. We realize that some of you don't want to view this as a money-making thing, and we hope you'll consider the other options above. But we also know that providing a financial incentive is a good way to really motivate more people to help spread the word. Here's a 5-minute video (which also appears on the DVD itself) introducing our distribution plan:

10 Skills You Need to Succeed at Almost Anything - Stepcase Lifehack

What does it take to succeed? A positive attitude? Well, sure, but that’s hardly enough. The Law of Attraction? The Secret? These ideas might act as spurs to action, but without the action itself, they don’t do much.Success, however it’s defined, takes action, and taking good and appropriate action takes skills. Some of these skills (not enough, though) are taught in school (not well enough, either), others are taught on the job, and still others we learn from general life experience.Below is a list of general skills that will help anyone get ahead in practically any field, from running a company to running a gardening club. Of course, there are skills specific to each field as well – but my concern here is with the skills that translateacross disciplines, the ones that can be learned by anyone in any position.

Books Are Great Web Content Sources : SEO Book.com

Hi readers posters better info seekers one n'all I chuckled when I read this post by Aaron Wall  ... especially this paragraph  ... "When you are fairly new to the web, if you have a lot of free time, one of the best ways to come up with new content ideas is to read books in other industries and relate some of their key points to your own industry" ... Simply because at last after the best part of years of trying this and implementing almost every tactic received in my in-box from what now is termed "Guru's" I've been loyally following waiting for that golden opportunity to do nothing but sign up, purchase, and promote to the promise to earn big bucks simply by being buzzed by all the razzle dazzle  of all the bling!! ... WHY the chuckle you might be thinking? ...

... Simply this in my so many years on the marketing trail of the trial & errors route I've never seemed to have the luxury of free time to enjoy the pleasures of free my-time? ... Ive been so bizzy chasing down ways to promote, learning new ways, to promote, getting my offers to-be-seen, also trying to keep up with the ever changing web-ways ... then my mentor Chris Moos finally got around to sharing one of his major habits to his success ... I almost felt sick when he Finally Revealed  STUDY http://www.seobook.com/ + *TOOLS* = SUCCESS  ... so that's a book that you will never have enough time to master the key points to your own industries Key-Words & Key-Word-Phrases when I think of all that time I've wandered in here and played around like a kid in a toy-shop instead of realizing how close Ive been all this time to understanding where my own successful formula has been waiting for me to Grow Up!!! ... Keep up the good work Aaron this site as most successful marketers already know is the key to ever-ones online success no matter where you are on your own ladder! ... even before the product formulations ... now that's a Key Word Sentence and a half lol (-;   Books Are Great Web Content Sources : SEO Book.com

All my best to you and yours

Twine is a smarter way to keep up with what you’re into

Twine what is it? ... Common Questions  you should think about as you join in the best social networking system available

Keep Up with What You are Into – Twine is a smarter way to keep track of your interests

People use Twine to keep track of their interests. Twine is a new way for you to collect online content – videos, photos, articles, Web pages, products - and bring it all together by topic, so you can have it in one place and share it with anyone you want.

That is the beauty of Twine. It helps you collect information in a new, highly personalized, convenient way. You can use Twine alone, with friends, groups and communities, or even in your company.

And Twine is smart. It’s powered by semantic understanding, which means Twine gets to know you. It automatically learns about your interests and makes connections and recommendations tailored to you. The best part: The more you use Twine, the more useful it becomes.

Twine ties it all together

What’s a bookmarklet?

A bookmarklet is a convenient tool that you add to your browser. Use it to grab web pages, videos, photos, products, or articles, and send them automatically to your Twines.

How do I get the Twine bookmarklet if I use Safari?

Along the top of your Safari browser there is a Bookmarks Bar. (If you can’t see it, make sure under View you select Show Bookmarks Bar.) Just drag and drop the blue Add To Twine button into your Bookmarks Bar. That’s it. There’s nothing to install.

How do I get the Twine bookmarklet if I use Firefox?

Along the top of your Firefox browser there is a Bookmarks Toolbar. (If you can’t see it, go to View, select Toolbars, and make sure Bookmark Toolbar is checked.) Just drag and drop the blue Add To Twine button into your Bookmarks Toolbar. That’s it. There’s nothing to install.

How do I get the Twine bookmarklet if I use Internet Explorer?

Make sure your links bar is visible. (If you don’t see it, right click on your browser toolbar and select Links Bar to display it.) Right click on the blue Add To Twine button and select Add to Favorites. That’s it, but you may have to enable pop-ups for the bookmarklet to work properly.

Note: Add To Twine may be hidden from view if you have a lot of bookmarks in your Links folder. To ensure Add To Twine is always visible, click Favorites, then Organize Favorites from your browser menu bar. Then drag Add To Twine to the top of the Links list.

How do I use the Twine bookmarklet?

When you come across something online – an item that you want to save to one of your twines – you can click on Add To Twine in your browser’s toolbar and the item will be added to Twine. This is the easiest way to collect anything of interest and fill your twines with relevant, topical items.

Here’s an example: Lets say you’re planning a trip to England and you start a twine specifically about London. When you’re online, you find London restaurant reviews, public transit schedules, video tours of the British Museum, and photos of the London Bridge at night. To save these and use them for your travels, click Add To Twine and the web page, video, photo, product, or article you’re looking at will get added to your London twine.

Where did the advanced bookmarklet go?
