Career, Jobs, Workplace
5 Ways to Increase Your Chances of Workplace Success
By matt 19 August 2009

Once you’ve found a job, you’ll want to do everything possible to be successful in the workplace. While a number of factors can affect whether or not you’ll be successful, increase your chances by following these basic steps.

1. Do your job.
To ensure you’re doing your job, make sure you understand all the duties assigned to you. Upon beginning your job, your employer should provide you with a list of job duties and on-the-job training. Ask questions, and find the most efficient ways to perform your job. When you make a mistake, learn from it rather than repeat it. Refer to your list of job duties from time to time to stay focused. If you take pride in what you do, you’ll make yourself - and your employer - happy.

2. Follow the rules.
Read and understand your employer’s policies and procedures manual. It’s your duty to learn and follow your employer’s rules and regulations. Refer to it when you have questions. If you can’t find an answer, ask your supervisor. You’ll decrease your chances of careless mistakes.

3. Be courteous.
A self-confident attitude, a smile, and a friendly word go a long way towards establishing strong working relationships with your supervisor, coworkers, and customers. Make an effort to be friendly, but realize you are there to work and not to socialize. A sense of humor is usually appreciated, but always maintain a professional attitude.

4. Be a team player.
In a team atmosphere, be an active listener. Your supervisor and coworkers will feel you value their opinion. However, don’t be afraid to share your knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm. Employers want employees who take initiative, follow instructions, respond well to constructive criticism, and cooperate. Make it a point to attend meetings and company-sponsored social events.

5. Find a mentor.
Find an experienced coworker who can serve as your mentor. Mentors help nurture your career–they may give advice, make suggestions, increase your access to senior management, and are often good listeners. To find a mentor, first identify your weak areas. Then, identify individuals who are strong in those areas, those whose careers you admire, and those who have access to senior management. Begin by being friendly, ask advice from time to time, and slowly build your relationship. If you have trouble finding a mentor, consider joining a professional organization.

You're About to Break the Profit Code With Buyer Keyword Profits Exposed!

In a moment, I'm going to give you a backstage look at the contents of a $297 video course about how to locate buyer keywords for your site. Best of all, the entire course won't cost you a penny! More on that in a minute, but first a quick word about this thing called "buyer keywords." You see...

No one smart enough is going to reveal their site's BUYING keywords because it's what makes that person or company their revenue! Getting someone's list of buying keywords to their site is like opening the gates to Fort Knox and having your pick of how many gold bars you'd like to take with you. Sad truth is that most business owners are going after the WRONG keywords that may have a lot of traffic, but the web surfer is most likely (99% of the time) in the "research" stage of their purchase. These visitors are NOT buyers (and it's wasting a LOT of your time in both research and implementation).

RE: Buyer Keyword Profits Exposed Home Study Course (Urgent!)!
It is your goal to get visitors to your site when they are in the peak moment or the cusp of buying your product or service -- not in the beginning stages. Why have some visitor using your site as a springboard for research when they should be making their buying decision at YOUR site. See, most people are making the REAL money off keywords like...

"AT&T Tilt HTC 8925 battery pack L528" (I made that up) "Plantronics voyager bluetooth 2.0 headset" Notice the detail in those keywords? The best part is (and this is like the cherry on top once you discover BUYING keywords)... these keyword phrases are NOT that hard to make it to the TOP of Google's results. But how exactly do you locate the buying keywords for your site?

Problem solved. My long time colleague from IMnewswatch.com -- Mike Mograbi just came out with a huge video home study course on exactly how to do find BUYER KEYWORDS (that's 97 videos). In fact, it's 90+ videos of pure content -- and the wildest part is that he's NOT charging a dime for the content (yet!). I watched all the videos and this course is fresh and new and worth a cool $297 easy if Mike were to sell it!

Now, I know that a bunch of people hate even giving up their email addresses to get something THIS valuable, so I did something sneaky! I grabbed the MEMBERS page so you can see with your own eyes the entire course contents for yourself before you even give up your sensitive information. ;o)

America's New Health Crises - How Toxic Are You - Change Your Health

Hey There.

Truman Capote once commented that he was strongly advised to never talk about Religion, Sex or Politics.  His response was "well what else is there?"

Today, this email may seem similarly unusual because it has to do with affiliate marketing.

Instead, I am helping a local world class doctor, who is venturing into internet marketing with his first downloadable product!

Drumroll Please......Ready, Fire, Aim!

If you are not familiar with the phrase Ready, Fire, AIM you should read anything by Michael Masterson.  It is a proven system to getting out of your own way and succeeding in life.

Dr. James Martin has healed many of my family members and several good friends.  However, he is definitely not part of the typical Medical establishment.

Several years ago I referred a young girl to his practice that was diagnosed with a horrible terminal disease.  A few months later she was completely healed. When she returned to the group of Doctors who diagnosed her all they could say, was that they must have misdiagnosed her!

This guy is a Medical Maverick, a Renegade and has paid the price numerous times over the years in his practice for going against the arrogant medical establishment.

His expertise is Toxicity and Nutrition.

In the health world of misinformation his material is a breath of fresh air and a great recipe for how to keep you and your loved ones safe.

He truly works miracles, and Yes, he is my Doctor.I only found out he was launching a product a few days ago.  :)

If you are interested in Health and Wellness you should definitely check it out. This is not the kind of information you are going to ever hear about it traditional circles.

You can learn more about it here:

I am traveling this week for San Diego where I will be speaking at Amish Shah's Magic Bullet Seminar. Will report on that experience next week.  If by chance you are one of the lucky 200 to attend the  seminar let's hook up at the event and share notes over drinks.

5 Twitter Tips to Strengthen Your Content Marketing Strategy

twitter home newtbarrett You may be wondering why something as seemingly simple as Twitter causes so much confusion and consternation among business people.

Perhaps, it best likened to a tool like a hammer which is simultaneously simple and powerful.  After all, a hammer can be used to put up a basic bookshelf or to build an entire home that will house a family for a lifetime.

Everything depends on whether you wield that hammer in an awkward, solitary way or use it skillfully and cooperatively with a team of other like-minded folks.  So too with Twitter.   Used poorly, you may do little more than smash your virtual thumb.  But, if you use it well, you can make a measurable difference in your content marketing strategy.  Happily, some terrific tools make the effective use of Twitter almost as easy as hammering in a nail.

(If you are brand new to Twitter, you may want to read our earlier post, Twitter for Business Made Easy , before continuing)

Here are six easy ways for Twitter to strengthen your content marketing efforts:

  3. Punctuate run-on sentences properly they are hard to read otherwise.
  4. Don't use no double negatives.

  13. Give slang the elbow.
  14. Conversely, it is incumbent upon us to avoid archaisms.

  29. For Christ's sake don't offend your readers' sensibilities.
  30. Last but not least, avoid clichés like the plague; seek viable alternatives.

Best Twitters to Follow

Best Twitters to Follow

You’ve probably wondered who you should follow and where you can find the ones you want to follow…well, it really depends upon your criteria…are you looking for information? What kind of information? Are you looking for people you can talk to? What do you want to talk about?

The sad, but nevertheless, truth of the matter is Twitter is quickly becoming a hot-bed of affiliate links and marketers looking to market their products or services …so if you’re looking to chat it up with someone or bond friendships you really have to dig pretty deep to get through all the crap.

So, we’ve compiled a list of Twitters we have either personally spoke to on Twitter who we find interesting, engaging, friendly, with a good sense of humor, that we feel you must follow if you are looking for people to connect with…or, in some rare cases, Twitters we haven’t spoke to personally but were recommended to be included by others on this list and we checked out their profile, their last 30 posts, their website ( if they have one ) and found that they do qualify by our standards.

These are people who will actually talk with you, engage you, have fun, and are genuinely people you want to and should follow.

This list will be updated occasionally and will be Twitted semi-regularly for your benefit. So view this post periodically to see if more have been added to the list.

Some of these Twitters are sweet, some are funny, some are very engaging, some are interesting, and all of them should be in your following list.

BEST SOCIALABLE TWITTERS TO FOLLOW:

This list now in alphabetical order for easy scanning…and bolding is no indication of importance…simply, if you are on this list you are, in our opinion, the best social Twitters to follow.

just made Fox News!!! | Run Tellman Run

just made Fox News!!!

hey guys,
I just got interviewed up in Burlington and made it onto Fox News! They did a great job with the piece (we’ll overlook the pronunciation of my name at the beginning – it’s actually KUH-NOOD-SUN). I think they really summed up the spirit and mission of this project well. And of course the sound byte that Ben gets on television is “Tellman’s crazy.” Ben and I have known each other a long time; he’s a man of few words, but his words are always spot on.

I’m digging this TV thing. The exposure is really going to help spread the word and help raise money. Anyhoo, take a gander at the vid and tell me what you think.

How to make my computer faster

How To Make My Computer Faster?

How to Make My Computer Faster by Fixing Errors in the Registry A key step is to clean up the registry. You could attempt to do this manually however we do not recommend this method which requires deep knowledge of both the structure of the registry and its functions. Registry cleaner software are a faster, more reliable alternative to remove errors, unused files and poor links in your registry. Ultimately this will free-up the valuable resource and help Windows to run faster.

CHECK-OUT OUR REGISTRY CLEANERS REVIEW PAGE

How to Make My Computer Faster by Eliminating Viruses - Viruses often create spontaneous corruption, driving erratic response time, and reducing the overall speed of the computer. Computer viruses can also damage files, consume available memory and resources on the hard disk. Running the latest version of your anti-virus program is an obvious step to eliminate a common cause of reduced computer speed.

How to Make My Computer Faster with Simple Housekeeping Tasks - There are many small housekeeping task that can be done to improve your computer's performance, for example, uninstalling programs that are not needed, especially the ones that run at startup, defragmenting the drive and running any disk cleanup utility. These simple steps usually lead to marginal improvements.

How to Make My Computer Faster by Stopping Self-starting Programs

Another simple step to improve computer speed is to stop the auto-starting programs as follows:

  • Click the "Start" button (Bottom left of your screen)
  • Click "Run"
  • Type "msconfig" at the command prompt.
  • Select the Startup tab

Lifeboat The Dreaded Double Beep

I remember it well; it still makes me feel hot in the cheeks...

I was rooting through the cupboards in my old main street apartment, looking for something to eat...aside from some cookbooks, the cupboards were bare...

The fridge was empty, save for the box of baking soda in the door compartment, it was supposed to soak up odors...

I didn't think it was working anymore... The fridge still smelled like old cabbage... My stomach groaned and twisted, I had to eat FAST -

So I went down stairs, where a new place had opened up "Amy's Bakery"... It's still here in town...

When they had just opened, they had a great deal on lunch - it was six bucks for a half a sandwich, and a big bowl of soup.

So I ordered mine - the sandwich was delicious, the bread was fresh, and the soup was hot and made me feel alive again...

Amy's looks out over the Connecticut River, So I enjoyed the view as I ate - it was awesome... but then it happened...

---~--~----~---~-----~--~---
** The Dreaded Double Beep **
~--~----~---~-----~---~-----

As I gave the woman at the register my card, I didn't know how much was in my account...

I "Had a Feeling" it was fine, but when she swiped it I heard the sound we all dread... "Beep-BEEEP"

My heart fell into my gut and I quickly apologized and explained that I live upstairs and I'd get them their money ASAP...

Ever since that moment, I didn't stop learning about Internet Marketing and ListBuilding - I bought books, I scraped together spare change and saved it up
for courses...

And I didn't stop discovering new ideas until I had finally created the business of my dreams... A fully automated, push-button income stream online...

Do you want to copy what I did?

The NEW Think and Grow Rich by Ted Ciuba takes Napoleon Hill's book to the next level

Why Write A "NEW"
 Think And Grow Rich?

Description: It was never my intention to write a "new" Think And Grow Rich. That book having been so instrumental in my own path to achievement, recognition, and riches, my only intention was to teach it. I went to that task - in all parts of the world.

That's when I discovered the shortcomings the book, as written, really had.

You see, American audiences, knowing the characters of the book, knowing the times... Could read past and make allowances for a lot of things...

However, when you take that book in its original form to a Singaporean of Chinese descent who speaks English as a second language... You'll learn what a question mark really looks like.

The research that went into that book began over 100 years ago in 1908. It went into final form over 70 years ago in 1937.

To today's youth is written in antiquated language... It does appear to be racist, sexist, and nationalist.

That could be cleaned up.

Plus, when Napoleon Hill wrote the original, he had to step carefully around the spirituality and wholeness themes... There had been no Quantum Physics to tell the same truth with science the mystics had always claimed...

In short, I wrote The NEW Think And Grow Rich to update and empower the message of wealth and riches as Napoleon Hill discovered it to be.

He's call the Godfather in some circles

I'm shooting a TV program with VIP mystery guest on Friday. Guess who?  (He's call the Godfather in some circles.)

Some say he's swum the Atlantic 3 times, others claim it was him who actually walked on the moon first. I can't say whether
any of that is true, but I can tell you he's launched a book and it is pure marketing genius.

Quoting Frank Bauer about this book: "My company generated an additional $20,368 last month as a direct result of this book."

I've hashed up a quick TV sneak preview for you. (And you can see what my studio really looks like without its clothes on.)
