I was watching one of Michael’s latest videos the other day when he opened with the question, “Is this the worst transition ever?” After viewing the transition itself, I suspect there are probably a few people on social media who would happily nominate it for an award. It was awkward, slightly ridiculous, and exactly the sort of thing that makes you laugh because we’ve all experienced moments when an idea sounded far better in our heads than it looked in reality. Still, what lingered for me was not the transition itself. It wasn’t the transition that stayed with me. Nor was it the book he referenced. Instead, an entirely different thought stood out.y start.

Yet what stayed with me wasn’t the transition.

It wasn’t even the book he was talking about.

It was a completely different thought altogether.

As I watched him joking around in front of the camera, looking completely relaxed and comfortable, I found myself thinking something that many retirees have probably thought at one time or another.

“I could probably do something like that.”

Now, before you dismiss the idea, think about it for a moment.

Most retirees have spent decades solving problems, managing responsibilities, raising families, paying mortgages, and generally navigating the ups and downs of life. Compared with some of the situations we’ve faced, talking to a camera for a couple of minutes hardly sounds terrifying.

In fact, that’s often how curiosity begins.

Not with a grand plan.

Not with a life-changing decision.

Just a simple thought.

“I wonder if I could do that?”

The funny thing about retirement is that it gives us time to ask questions we never had time to ask before. During our working years, most of us were focused on getting through the week. There were jobs to do, places to be, people depending on us, and responsibilities that demanded our attention. Even when we had interesting ideas, there wasn’t always enough time or energy left at the end of the day to explore them properly.

Then retirement arrives, and everything changes.

At first, the freedom feels wonderful. You can wake up without an alarm clock. You can enjoy your morning coffee without watching the clock. You can spend, but with time, that initial freedom evolves. You notice the list of jobs around the house gets shorter. The garden soon looks better than it has in years. The holidays eventually get booked. Visits to the grandchildren get checked off the list.f Amidst all this newfound freedom, a small question begins to appear. The holidays have been booked.

The grandchildren have been visited.

And somewhere in the middle of all that freedom, a small question begins to appear.

“What comes next?”

The Moment We Made The Transition Mentally

Every new adventure begins with a shift in thinking.

It’s not a question people talk about very often.

Most retirement articles focus on slowing down. Yet, the reality is that many retirees don’t want to relax forever. After working hard for decades, most people deserve a little relaxation.

The reality, however, is that many retirees don’t simply want to relax forever. The real opportunity is that retirement offers a chance for personal growth and renewed purpose.

They still want to learn.

They still want to create.

They still want to challenge themselves.

How The Transition Builds New Confidence

Small wins create the momentum needed to keep moving forward.

What I particularly like is that there is no pressure to race through everything.

Retirement isn’t school.

Nobody is standing over your shoulder with a stopwatch.

Some people move quickly.

Others take their time.

Both approaches are perfectly fine.

The goal isn’t speed.

The goal is understanding.

As you work through the training, something else happens that makes the experience surprisingly enjoyable. Additional resources and bonus material begin to unlock. It’s a little like opening compartments in a treasure chest. Just when you think you’ve reached the end of one section, another useful resource appears further down the page.

It creates a genuine sense of progress.

You complete something.

You learn something.

You unlock something new.

And before long, you’re looking forward to discovering what comes next.

The other thing that makes the classroom work is the people.

Like any community, people arrive for different reasons. Some are curious. Some are excited. Some are simply looking for a new challenge. A few stay briefly before moving on to other interests, while others settle in and become long-term members of the community.

That’s perfectly normal.

Life changes.

People change.

Circumstances change.

Yet one thing remains remarkably consistent.

Learning is always easier when you’re not doing it entirely on your own.

It’s reassuring to know there are other people asking similar questions, facing similar challenges, and working through the same lessons. Sometimes the most valuable thing isn’t the training itself but the realisation that you’re not the only person figuring things out.

Then, of course, there’s Michael.

That may sound obvious, but it’s important.

But only do it if you’re ready to stop surviving and start thriving.

We’re done watching life pass us by. We’re done shrinking to fit someone else’s version of retirement. We’re building, growing, and winning with or without you. But honestly, we’d rather do it with you. Let’s go.

We Made The Transition Because Curiosity Still Matters

The most rewarding retirement chapters often begin with a willingness to keep learning.

Many online training programmes feel as though the creator recorded a few videos years ago and disappeared into the sunset. The content exists, but the person behind it feels distant and inaccessible.

This feels different.

Questions can be asked.

Guidance can be given.

Advice is available.

Looking back, that’s the real reason we made the transition to become Millionaire Apprentices. Not because we had all the answers, and certainly not because we expected success to arrive overnight. We made the transition because we stayed curious. We understood that retirement isn’t the end of learning and that some of the most rewarding chapters of life begin when you’re willing to explore something new.

Most of all, we recognised that the people who continue to thrive in retirement are usually the ones who keep growing, keep learning, and keep looking for new possibilities.

Which brings us back to Michael’s terrible transition.

Funny enough, it may have contained the best lesson in the entire video. Every worthwhile journey begins with a transition. The transition from wondering to learning. From watching to participating. From saying, “I wish I knew how to do that,” to deciding it’s finally time to find out.

That’s the transition that matters.

And for many of us, it’s the one that changes everything.
